Born Nov. 17, 1902 (Nov. 4 O.S.) in Kagarlyk (now the Kiev oblast).
Father a "craftsman."
Died June 11, 1976 in Moscow.
Joined the Soviet Army in 1924. Completed artillery school in 1930. Lieutenant general, military theoretician, profesor. Professor since 1958. Taught military engineering 1961-1969 at the Kubyshev Academy.
