Born Nov. 17, 1902 (Nov. 4 O.S.) in Kagarlyk (now the Kiev oblast). Died June 11, 1976 in Moscow.
Joined the Soviet Army in 1924. Completed artillery school in 1930. Lieutenant general, military theoretician, profesor. Professor since 1958. Taught military engineering 1961-1969 at the Kubyshev Academy.
