Biographical information:
Moisey was born in 1871 in Obukhov. Moisey married Maria in 1892 in Rzhishchev. Status given as Cherkassy bourgeois (same as father).
Moved to Kanev not later than 1895, where his sons Iogan (Iohonon) and Miron were born. In Iogan's birth certificate, 1895, Moisey's name is given as Moishe-Yankel'.
By 1900 the family is in Kiev, where Solomon and Emil are born, and Iogan entered school. They remain classified as Cherkassy bourgeois. Moisey's 1912 internal passport, issued in Cherkassy, states that he has no permanent residence. The passport also confirms the 4 sons mentioned, and a daughter Sara (Alexandra, called Shura) born 1905 or 1906.

In the 1920's at least four of the five children moved to Leningrad, and the parents followed them. Telephone directory listings for Moisey:

Moisey passed away in 1940. Maria probably died in the blockade in 1941 (documents include a photograph of the tombstone by Alexander A. Tsirlin, not easily read).
Note on the Surname: Moisey's family tend to use the Russian form equivalent to Tsyrlin while his other relatives favor Tsirlin.
